Learn to critically analyze the digital world through humanities and social science perspectives and gain fluency in the online environments of today and tomorrow.

About the Major

A degree in Information Science and eSociety will prepare you for contemporary life and work in the 21st century. You'll be introduced to social network theories and analysis, digital storytelling, information manipulation and propaganda, digital discourse, web design, and the impact of social media on daily life. eSociety students are taught to think critically about information technologies and understand human cooperation, behaviors, and biases that underlie digitally mediated communication.

Hands-on learning: Participate in internships and develop valuable contacts with local and national companies, such as Hydrant, Octavia Digital Media, and the Enterprise Technology division of State Farm

The major allows you to choose both introductory and core courses to suit your interests – from game design and social media strategies to publishing and digital storytelling.
