EwingCole is a nationally recognized architecture, engineering, interior design and planning firm with offices across the country. Our multi-disciplinary practice is built on the core values of professional excellence, design quality and collaboration. We are seeking a Interiors Resource Library Intern to join our New York office.

  

The intern will support the Interiors Group in keeping the Resource Library in working order, implementing Sustainability Guidelines to meet the AIA Materials Pledge, and assisting in the development of Inclusive Material Guidelines in collaboration with the EwingCole Research team. This Designer will also assist on project work as available. 

 

Assigned tasks will help the Designer to become educated and familiar with the materials resources that are available to the A&D community. This Designer will also become involved with manufacturer’s representative relationships, as well as the organization and workings of a design firm. The position will offer knowledge of all aspects of design with a strong focus on developing Resource Library knowledge and material research, and a secondary focus on documentation, rendering, presentation, and field experience. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Resource library maintenance and updating.
  • Apply Sustainability Guidelines to evaluate and label all materials within the existing Resource Library.
  • Guide A&D representatives in the process of accepting new materials into the Resource Library.
  • Resource database maintenance.
  • Update resource contact database
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Inclusive Material Guidelines with Researchers and Senior Designers.
  • Assist in library organization in collaboration with Interior Designers.
  • Coordination of the intake of product samples and literature.
  • Composition of new product and informational displays.
  • Involvement in product update meetings with manufacturer’s product specialists.
  • Providing technical information on materials and furnishings to all staff.
  • Other tasks may include: drafting, presentation preparation, finish selection assistance, production of furniture/finish binders and other project deliverables.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's degree program in Interior Design
  • Understanding of finish materials and their application 
  • Understanding of sustainable design concepts
  • Understanding of ADA, Universal design and Inclusive design concepts
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of color theory and its practical application
  • General knowledge of Revit, Adobe Suite and/or Affinity
  • Some experience with 3D Modeling software such as Rhino and Enscape
Salary Description
Expected Hourly Rate $20.00-$27.00
