About the Program

Welcome to The Human Rights Practice Program

We feature a wholly online BA degree, a wholly online MA degree, and four graduate certificates in Human Rights Practice.  These are professionally oriented programs designed to provide participants with the foundational knowledge, critical perspectives, and practical skills to advance human rights around the globe.

Our four graduate certificates include:

  • Human Rights Practice (12 Credits)
  • Human Rights and Documentary Media (18 Credits)
  • Human Rights and Technology (15 Credits)
  • Gender-Based Violence (15 Credits)

Students in each program will graduate with a portfolio of applied work, a large network of contacts, and marketable skills for the practice and application of human rights.  They will help produce white papers, webinars, shadow reports, and other forms of human rights work.

For more information about the graduate programs, including graduate certificates, please contact Dr. Mette Brogden (metteb@arizona.edu). For more information about the BA major and minor, please contact Dr. Raymond Smith (raymondsmith@arizona.edu).
